Carl William Koppelman (born December 16, 1962) is an American accountant and unpaid volunteer forensic sketch artist, known for his forensic facial reconstructions of missing and unidentified people.

Early life[]

At a young age, Carl Koppelman first took interest in crime and unsolved mysteries through reading news coverage of serial killers.

Career[]

During his young adulthood, Koppelman worked many different jobs, none of which he liked or involved artistry, although he did art recreationally throughout his life. He later studied accounting at California State University, Long Beach and became an accountant for the Walt Disney Company in Burbank, California until retiring to take care of his mother.

Koppelman began his career as a forensic sketch artist and internet detective in 2009. He is an active member on Websleuths, on which he posts his reconstructions, and works with local law enforcement at times. He has been instrumental in solving a number of unidentified decedent cases, notably the murders of Tammy Alexander and Sherri Jarvis.
