Anti-Heroes are heroes who lack conventional heroic qualities. Although they are generally on the side of good, their motives may be selfish or questionable, and they are often more willing to use extreme methods to reach their goals. Thus, some anti-heroes can also be rightly considered villains, especially if their bad qualities overshadow their good ones.
Primary examples include Thomas Jefferson, who advocated for civil liberties and laid ideas for America while owning slaves, and Napoleon Bonaparte.
