The lesson learned is: ignorance breeds fear. If you don't keep that fear in check, that fear will breed hatred. If you don't keep hatred in check, it will breed destruction.
― Daryl Davis
Daryl Davis (born 26 March 1958) is an American musician, author and activist known for his political activism against the Ku Klux Klan. He is best known for attending KKK rallies to convert Klan members into leaving and denouncing the Klan using Christian methods. After being booed and pelted with stones and glass bottles by racists when he was a child, Davis began a quest to develop a deeper understanding of racism, and started his activism when he met a Klan member in a bar and befriended him. He later befriended Klan Imperial Wizard Roger Kelly, convincing him to leave the Klan. Over his career, Davis has converted over 200 Klansmen.
