Enrique S. “Kiki” Camerena Salazar (July 26th, 1947 - February 9th, 1985) was a Mexican-American DEA agent who was previously in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was spying on the Mexican drug cartels and was killed by them in 1985 when they found out he was working for the United States government the whole time. They tortured him by drilling a hole in his skull and breaking his rib cage. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in October in his honor.
