The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (alternatively referred to as the NRF or the Panjshir resistance) is a military alliance made up of thousands of people that seeks to overthrow the Taliban, the terrorist organization that controls Afghanistan. The group was founded in August 2021 after international forces withdrew from Afghanistan and the Taliban took over. It is based in and controls the Panjshir Valley region, which is currently besieged by Taliban forces.

The group is currently led by Ahmad Massoud, son of former Afghan president Ahmad Shah Massoud, and Amrullah Saleh, and made up of former Northern Alliance fighters. It is believed to be the only organised resistance group in Afghanistan. Unconfirmed reports have claimed that NRF captured the city of Charikar from the Taliban. NRF also seized several districts in Baghlan Province back from the Taliban on August 20, killing 60 Taliban fighters.

On September 4, 2021, it was reported that the Taliban had tried to attack Panjshir but were pushed back. Two days after, on September 6 the Taliban issued a statement saying that they had taken the valley and crushed NRF. NRF, however, were soon found to still be active.
