Pocahontas (c. 1596 – March 1617) was a Native American woman of the Wampanoag tribe. Her tribe was being attacked by the English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh pilgrims in 1607. She was only a teenager. Despite Disney's inaccuracies, Pocahontas didn't marry John Smith, but she married John Rolfe afterwards. Unlike John Smith, John Rolfe was a pilgrim who was actually nice towards the Native Americans. The pilgrims and Native Americans eventually made peace with each other.
