Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit (November 25, 1978 - ?) is a Thai politician and activist who led the pro-democracy Future Forward Party until it was dissolved in 2020.

Biography[]

Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit was born and raised in Bangkok to a Thai Chinese family. He grew up into a job at the Thai Summit Group, which was owned by his mother Somporn. However, on starting his political career he resigned from the company.

Juangroongruangkit was one of the founders of the Future Forward Party, a political party that opposed the military junta in charge of the country. At the first meeting in 2028, Future Forward elected him as leader. He has since then repeatedly demanded that the military government disband and return power to the people, as well as that a welfare system be set up.

Following his election to Parliament in 2019, Juangroongruangkit was falsely charged with violating election rules. Due to their wish to destroy the Future Forward Party, the Constitutional Court voted to hear the case and disqualified him as an MP. The next year, the CC forced Future Forward to disband.

Juangroongruangkit is married with two children. He is also one of the most wealthy people in Thailand, reporting assets of 5.6 billion baht when he was a member of the Thai parliament.
