Valentina Shchutskoi was a Soviet partisan who, along with her sister Yelena and two other women, assassinated the Nazi official Wilhelm Kube.
Assassination of Kube[]
In 1941, at the height of World War II, the Soviet partisan Nadezhda Troyan was tasked with killing Wilhelm Kube, who was in charge of the Minsk Ghetto. To kill him, Troyan needed to find someone who worked in his household. Fortunately, Shchutskoi had a sister named Yelena Mazanik who was Kube's maid and suggested that she be used in the plot. Yelena was suspicious at first, not knowing if the partisan who approached her, Mariya Osipova, was genuine, but was convinced after her sister confirmed their identities. Mazanik was given a bomb, which she used to blow up Kube and kill him. Before the assassination, Shchutskoi fled with most of her family and her fellow conspirators to Russia, where Yelena joined her later.
There is no record of what happened to Valentina after the war, but she is presumably dead.
